Eat Your Favorite Foods Again
With The Help Of Dentures

Custom-made all-natural dentures restore function
and give you the confidence to smile again.

Dentures

Dentures have come a long way in the past few decades. No longer do uncomfortable and ill-fitting dentures move around or fall out, making it difficult to eat and speak.

Dentists today use high-tech materials and advanced modeling technology to give you a comfortable, custom-made set of dentures that look and feel just like natural teeth.

Don’t let uncomfortable dentures get in the way of enjoying the foods you love. If you have broken, damaged, or missing teeth, dentures are a great solution to restore function and make your smile whole again.

Using the latest technology, our Digital Smile Design lets you be part of the design process in a way that wasn’t possible before. You’ll see the end results of your smile makeover BEFORE you get it done and have a deeper level of involvement throughout the entire process.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are removable and custom-made dental prosthetics (commonly known as false-teeth).

The design of dentures allows for them to be removed at any time and color-matched to your existing teeth and gums. Dentures come in full or partial sets, replacing all or some of your teeth.

Benefits Of Dentures

If you’ve had multiple teeth removed due to decay or impact, your dentist may recommend full or partial dentures for a variety of reasons.

  • If you’ve lost all of your teeth, your cheeks will have a sunken look. Dentures help fill out your cheeks and give them back a full and natural appearance.
  • Your teeth are key players in your ability to speak and make sounds properly. Dentures will restore your natural speech.
  • Dentures improve your ability to chew properly, allowing you to enjoy your favorite foods.

Types Of Dentures

Dentures are classified according to how many teeth are being replaced.

There are 3 main types of dentures available:

Complete (Full) Dentures

A full set of dentures replaces an entire row of teeth. Complete dentures are typically reserved for those with many missing or damaged teeth. Any remaining teeth are removed.

Full dentures rest on the gum line using an oral adhesive and suction which are easy to remove, clean, and re-fit.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures replace only some of your upper or lower teeth. These dentures fill in the gaps and fit around your remaining healthy teeth using adhesive or metal clasps. Partial dentures are an alternative to implants and not permanently fastened to the jaw, making them removable at night and easy to clean.

Implant-Supported Dentures

For increased grip and stability, a dental implant anchor can be permanently fastened to your gum line for your dentures to snap into, without the need for adhesive creams or gels.

These implants ensure a more firm and secure fit, allowing you to eat harder foods and speak properly, without worrying about dentures moving and shifting in your mouth. Implants can support both full and partial dentures.

Getting Used To Your Dentures

It may take a bit of time to get comfortable with your dentures while you adjust to eating, drinking, and speaking with a new object in your mouth. But after just a bit of practice, your dentures will feel natural and comfortable within a few weeks.

After getting your dentures, you may need to book follow-up appointments for minor adjustments as your dentures settle into your mouth. Otherwise, your dentist will check your dentures during your bi-annual routine checkups.

Denture Care & Cleaning Tips

For the first week or two, start off with eating small pieces of soft foods like mashed potatoes, eggs, soups, and stews. Be mindful to chew your food carefully and evenly. Avoid eating tough cuts of meat, gum, or hard candy which may dislodge your dentures and require repair. It can be hard to gauge temperature right away, so be careful with hot foods and drinks.

Scheduling regular checkups and cleanings give your dentist the chance to inspect your dentures and ensure they still fit properly.

At home, careful and comprehensive cleaning is the best way to extend the lifespan of your dentures. Always soak your dentures in water when they are not in your mouth to prevent them from drying out. Brush your dentures with warm water only to remove food debris. A denture cleaner may help remove deep stains or stuck-on food.
